Great question. I would first ask is jealously even normal! … because if there is jealousy in a relationship it shows on some level that there isn’t any trust! If we examine what jealousy is a little bit more we can see it comes from a place of suspicion, insecurity and even fear that the other person isn’t good enough. If someone is jealous they can also bring an element of control into the relationship. For example, not wanting the other person to see friends, talk to other people or wear certain clothes. Jealousy should definitely not be a marker of how much you love someone or how much someone loves you! If you feel either you or your partner are jealous note when this is and why. If you feel safe in having a conversation about this with them, to unpack what’s going, speak with them about it. To explore this more our article on Jealousy and the Testimony on Jealousy may help. You might want to also take the quiz ‘Is this Love or Control’ and ‘How are you in relationships?’ as it could give you more insight into your relationship and support you in seeing if it’s healthy or unhealthy.
